Genderové aspekty body image a nespokojenosti s vlastním tělem u neklinické populace

Abstract

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá tématem body image a tělesné nespokojenosti u neklinické populace s akcentem na genderové aspekty. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části - teoretickou a empirickou. Teoretická část pojednává o pojmu body image jako o psychologickém konceptu, který je součástí sebepojetí člověka. Z toho důvodu je na začátku práce vymezeno celkové sebepojetí a rozdíl mezi skutečným a ideálním "Já". V teoretické části je dále kladen důraz na teoretické zakotvení pojmu. Podstatnou část tvoří kapitola vymezující faktory, které ovlivňují utváření tělesného sebepojetí a mají vliv na rozvoj a míru tělesné nespokojenosti. Není zde opomenut fakt, že současná západní společnost klade vysoké nároky na vzhled, které působí na muže i ženy. Práce dále rozvíjí možné důsledky této nespokojenosti v chování člověka, opět s ohledem na genderové odlišnosti. Není opomenuto téma sexuality, které se vztahem k vlastnímu tělu nepochybné souvisí. V závěru teoretické části jsou nastíněny některé možnosti měření body image a tělesné nespokojenosti. Empirická část mapuje průběh kvantitativní studie, která nese stejný název jako celá práce, tedy "Genderové aspekty Body image a nespokojenosti s vlastním tělem u neklinické populace". This thesis deals with the topic of body image and bodily dissatisfaction with non-clinical population with a focus on gender aspects. It has two main parts - theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part focuses on the term body image as a psychological concept that is a component of self-concept. For that reason, there is a definition of the overall self-concept and the difference between the real self and the ideal self. This part of the thesis stresses out the theoretical basis of the term. An important part is a chapter describing factors influencing a development of the bodily self-concept that influences the development and extent of bodily dissatisfaction. I talk about the current western society and its high standards on a physical appearance for both men and women. The thesis then deals with possible consequences of this dissatisfaction on human behavior, again with respect to the gender differences. The thesis also mentions human sexuality that is related to one's relationship with their own body. In the end of the theoretical part there are some possibilities for measuring body image and bodily dissatisfaction outlined.
