Ryszard Siwiec a jeho protest na Stadionu Desetiletí

Abstract

Předkládaná bakalářská práce se zabývá protestem Ryszarda Siwiece. Jejím hlavním cílem je analyzovat vliv této události jak na diváky na Stadionu Desetiletí, tak na současnou polskou společnost. Na začátku se práce zaměřuje na důlěžité historické mezníky v Polsku během roku 1968, následně se věnuje okupaci Československa a reakci Poláků na ni. Dále nastiňuje život a průběh protestu Ryzsarda Siwiece. Ve zbylých kapitolách je jeho oběť zasazena do kontextu tzv. živých pochodní Východního bloku. Na závěr zkoumá s ohledem na dostupné články, jak bylo Siwiecovo sebeupálení vnímáno v době protestu, a jaký význam má jeho oběť v dnešním Polsku.

The bachelor thesis deals with the protest of Ryszard Siwiec. The primary focus of this thesis is analysis of the events impact both on spectators at the 10th-Anniversary Stadium, and on present Polish society. In the first chapter, attention is devoted to the milestones in Poland during the year 1968, afterwards deals with occupation of Czechoslovakia and with response of Polish citizens to it. Further on, the bachelor thesis outlines Siwiec's life and the course of the protest. In last chapters, his victim is situated into context of so called human torches of Eastern Bloc. Finally, the thesis researches with regard to accessible articles the perception of Siwiec's self-immolation at the time of the protest and the importance of his victim in the contemporary Poland.
