Role kurátora v podmínkách současného českého umění

Abstract

Bakalářská práce se snaží objasnit úlohu kurátora současného umění v kontextu české umělecké scény. Za účelem dosažení tohoto záměru je postava kurátora zasazena do širšího rámce. Práce začíná popisem historických událostí, které vedli ke vzniku této profese a jež ovlivnily její vývoj do současné podoby. Klíčové je rozdělení kurátora na dva typy, kurátora jako zaměstnance výstavní, potažmo sbírkotvorné instituce a kurátora pracujícího nezávisle, které se odehrálo ve druhé polovině 20. století. Tento fakt je rozhodující pro určení přesné pracovní náplně kurátora. Této problematice a také popisu prostředí, ve kterém se kurátor v současnosti pohybuje, je věnována jedna z kapitol. Prostor je poskytnut také rozboru některých faktorů, lidských a technických, které práci kurátora přímo i nepřímo ovlivňují. Text je uzavřen kapitolou o možnostech vzdělávání se v oboru kurátorství, a to nejen na území České republiky, ale i v zahraničí. The bachelor thesis seeks to clarify the role of a curator of contemporary art in the context czech art scene. To achieve this objective the person of curator is set into the wide framework. Thesis starts with description of historical events which led to formation of this profession and influenced its evolution into the current form. The vital moment is division of a curator into two types in the second half of 20th century; a curator as employee of exhibitionary or collecting institution and an independent curator. This fact is crucial for the specification of exact responsibilities of a curator. It is this issue and also description of environment, where a curator currently operates, to which one of the chapters is dedicated. A place in the thesis is also given to the analysis of some factors, human and technical, which have a direct and also indirect influence on the work of a curator. The text is ended by a chapter about possibilities of education in the field of curating not only in the Czech Republic, but also abroad.
