Exotika cest v staročeských cestopisech a rytířských románech

Abstract

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na problematiku zobrazení exotického prostoru v staročeském cestopisu a rytířském románu v kontextu středověké myšlení. Zajímá nás, jak se obecný pohled na prostor a svět promítal do literatury a zda se od sebe liší obraz neznámého a tajemného v dílech stojících na reálném podkladu a beletrii. Teoretická základna práce mapuje představy středověkého člověka o Zemi a exotickém prostoru (kapitola 1) a stručně charakterisuje začlenění žánrů, reflektující cestu individua v prostoru, do kontextu české literatury přelomu 14. a 15. století (kapitola 2). V analytickém rozboru pak jsou porovnávány dvě díla cestopisná (Milion a Cestopis tzv. Mandevilla) a dva rytířské romány (Vévoda Arnošt a Kronika o Bruncvíkovi) z hlediska zobrazení cesty (kapitola 3) a exotického prostoru (kapitola 4). Na jeho konstrukci se podílí obraz krajiny, založený na protipólech líbezných a nebezpečných oblastí (podkapitola 4.1), reálná i fantastická fauna a flóra (podkapitola 4.2) a exotičtí lidé a lidská monstra (podkapitola 4.3), jejichž deformace tělesné odrážející jejich odlišný život. Poznatky z konfrontace výsledků analysi a teoretického základu shrnujeme v závěru.

The bacheloral work is aimed at the topic of the exotic area's construction in the old czech voyages (The Marco Polo's Million, The voyages called Mandevilla) and the chivarlic novels (The chronicle of Bruncvik, The Duke Ernest). We want to find connections between literary pictures of the exotic places and the common reception of the World and unknown space. Firstly we prepare simple teoretic base, which describe medieval people's dreams and ideas of the mysterious, exotic places on the East and the position of the new genres (voyages and chivarlic novel) in the czech literary context of the beggining of the 15th century. Than, we compair four old czech works, which use travels as the main theme of the story, and find the same or similar motives of the exotism. The construction of the place is made by three elements, which have their own symbolic meanings; it is a picture of the landscape, containned horrible deserts and pleasant spaces, fantastic or real flowers and animal, and mainly strange people, whose physical deformations reflect their different lifestyle. The conclusion of the results and their comparation to the teoretic base is described in the summary.
