This bachelor's thesis deals with the clash between the stand-up comedy genre and the phenomenon of cancel culture within the environment of social networks. With the massive shift of comedic performances from the intimate club environment to internet platforms, a so- called context collapse occurs. Highly stylized humor is often stripped of its irony here, becoming a trigger for algorithmically fueled public outrage. The theoretical framework of the thesis relies on the concepts of crowd psychology, media ecology, and the transformation of freedom of speech in the digital era. The main objective of the thesis is to determine how Czech stand-up comedians perceive this media pressure, how they negotiate the boundaries of their humor today, and whether cancel culture represents a real existential threat to them. The research was conducted using a qualitative method through semi-structured in-depth interviews with six established representatives of the Czech stand-up scene. The acquired primary data were subsequently processed using thematic analysis. The results show that creators reject the dictate of blanket political correctness and set their limits primarily based on their own conscience and the craftsmanship of the joke. The most surprising finding, however, is the fact that cancel culture does...
