Abstract

The introduction of the theoretical part deals with old age phenomenon and related issues. It also concentrates on the integration of senior citizens in information society, especially their relation to information and communication technologies (ICT). The final section of the theoretical part is concerned with active leisure of the elderly people; it stresses using the Internet in the Czech Republic and Finland, and suggests new trends in the field of ICT for seniors. The practical part presents data evaluation of a survey dealing with senior citizens and their computer and Internet skills. The survey was conducted in the form of online questionnaires from November 2008 to March 2009 in the above-mentioned countries.

Teoretická část diplomové práce se v úvodu zabývá fenoménem stáří a souvisejícími otázkami, dále sleduje začlenění seniorů v informační společnosti a především jejich vztah k informačním a komunikačním technologiím (ICT). V závěru teoretické části je věnována pozornost možnostem aktivní náplně volného času seniorů s důrazem na využití Internetu v České republice a Finsku a jsou naznačeny nové trendy v oblasti ICT pro seniory. V praktické části je vyhodnocen průzkum práce seniorů s počítačem a Internetem realizovaný v období od listopadu 2008 do března 2009, jenž probíhal formou online dotazníku v obou sledovaných zemích.
