Antifeministická mužská identita - kritická analýza mužské kritiky feministů

Abstract

The general question of this diploma thesis is the compatibility of present ideas of masculinity with democracy. The thesis narrows down the field of study onto men's antifeminist identity and maps out the variety within men's antifeminist movement. The methodology of the presented research is based on semantic and discursive analyses. The identity of antifeminist men is not studied independently, but by the means of a critical analysis of the antifeminist men's construction of their relationship to feminist men. The analyzed material consists of texts in which men are critical of feminist men. The thesis shows in what ways antifeminist men use diverse discursive techniques to construct various images of feminist men, images of themselves, and images of their mutual relationships. Great attention is also paid to a critical analysis of such constructions delivered from the perspective of gender studies and men's studies; the position of the author of this thesis is also explicitly acknowledged as a departure point for a critical reflection of the discussed images, their relationships and mechanisms of their construction. Rámcovou otázkou diplomové práce je slučitelnost našich představ o mužství s demokracií. Předmětné pole vlastního výzkumu zužuji na antifeministickou mužskou identitu. Mapuji různé proudy antifeministického mužského hnutí. Metodologii výzkumu stavím na sémantické a kritické diskurzivní analýze. Identitu mužů antifeministů nestuduji osamoceně, ale prostřednictvím analýzy jejich konstrukce vlastního vztahu k mužům feministům. Analyzovaný materiál sestává z textů, v nichž muži kriticky hodnotí muže feministy. Ukazuji, pomocí jakých diskurzivních praktik antifeministé vytváří různé obrazy feministů, obrazy sebe sama a jejich vzájemné vztahy. Značnou pozornost následně věnuji kritické analýze uvedených konstrukcí z perspektivy genderových a mužských studií. V této fázi z explicitně představené pozice kriticky reflektuji objevené obrazy, jejich vztahy a též způsoby a mechanismy jejich konstrukce. Představuji soubor sociálních praktik, kterými antifeministé přispívají ke konstrukci "reality". Analyzovaný případ antifeministické mužské identity zasazuji do obecnějších kontextů české společnosti a tak se snažím nabídnout dílčí odpovědi na rámcovou výchozí otázku.
