Vnímání autenticity dokumentární fotografie z pohledu českých fotografů

Abstract

The subject of this thesis is to examine the work and thinking of Czech documentary photographers, and to evaluate how they are dealing with authenticity not only in photography but also in their professions; as it is perceived as an objective way to capture reality. Photography is considered a proof of existence of the captured moments and that is why it is often perceived as a trustworthy medium. However, it is frequently neglected that photographs are moments detached from time and context, and that they are subject to the author's thinking and decision on how the situation is going to be captured and presented to the public. In the theoretical part, this thesis is dealing with the definition of authenticity and the perception of photography as an object that is credibly portraying reality of the world. These findings are consequently compared through opinions of six Czech documentary photographers, that were obtained through interviews.

Předmětem této diplomové práce je prozkoumat činnost a myšlení českých dokumentárních fotografů a snaží se porozumět, jak se vypořádávají s autenticitou v jejich profesi, která je často vnímána jako objektivní způsob zachycování reality. Fotografie je brána jako důkaz, že se daná skutečnost opravu stala, a proto je mnohdy vnímána jako důvěryhodné médium. Často bývá opomíjeno, že fotografický snímek nezachycuje celou situaci, čímž se část příběhu ztrácí. Snímky jsou vytrhnuté okamžiky z času a kontextu, které zároveň podléhají autorovu myšlení a rozhodnutí, jak bude daná situace zachycena a prezentována veřejnosti. Tato práce se v teoretickém vymezení věnuje definici autenticity a vnímání fotografie jako subjektivního objektu zachycující realistické skutečnosti světa. Tyto poznatky jsou následně srovnávány s názory šesti českých dokumentárních fotografů získaných pomocí rozhovorů.
