Paradoxy podpory, pomoci a péče

Abstract

The opener of this thesis is a pilot long-term study of a family with a handicapped member. The author has followed this family for more than six years. Following chapters of the thesis include descriptions of different experiences of members of this family. In order to understand specific needs of the family the thesis defines basic concepts such as care, help and support. Confusion of these notions causes dissipation of borders between the individual needs of different family members. Next chapter deals with the use of power in different supporting professions, concluding that its application is desirable under certain circumstances. It demonstrates that the possession of power doesn't necessary lead to manipulation of individuals. The last chapter covers the need of humane approach in supportive professions as has been proven in literature. This quality is highly beneficial to the client.

Tuto práci uvede pilotní longitudinální studie rodiny, která má člena se zdravotním postižením. Spolupráce s touto rodinou probíhá šest let a zahrnuje různé etapy jejich života a jednotlivé praktické příklady z jejich života se budou vyskytovat v dalších oddílech a kapitolách. Dále budou vymezeny základní pojmy - podpora, pomoc, péče - abychom mohli zjistit specifičnost potřeb jednotlivých členů rodiny. Vycházíme z hypotézy, že zaměňováním těchto pojmů dochází ke smývání hranic individuálních potřeb klientů. Následovat bude kapitola zaměřená na mocenské uplatňování v různých pomáhajících profesích, kdy vycházíme z hypotézy, že uplatňování moci je někdy nezbytné a ne vždy mít moc znamená ovládání druhých. V posledním oddílu se zaměříme na nutnost lidského přístupu ve všech pomáhajících profesích. Lidský rozměr je nutný pro vybudování důvěry a společně s literaturou bychom poukázali na přínos, který má pro klienta osobní vztah a bezpečné prostředí.
