Komparace produkčních a editoriálních směrnic BBC před a po šetření komise Lorda Huttona

Abstract

The thesis "Comparison of the BBC's Producers' guidelines and Editorial guidelines before and after the Hutton Inquiry" deals with the way the BBC changed its regulatory and self-regulatory framework after the affair involving the British weapons inspector in Iraq Dr. David Kelly and the BBC correspondent Andrew Gilligan. After setting the historical context emphasizing the development of the internal media regulation and journalism ethics, the thesis decribes the affair and the former BBC guidelines when it compares the newly inserted changes to the Editorial guidelines in terms of specific demands for improving the work of the BBC journalists.

Bakalářská práce "Komparace produkčních a editoriálních směrnic BBC před a po šetření komise Lorda Huttona" pojednává o způsobu, jakým se v BBC změnilo regulační a seberegulační prostředí po výsledcích vyšetřování kauzy zbrojního inspektora v Iráku Dr. Davida Kellyho a reportéra BBC Andrew Gilligana, jež vedly BBC k přehodnocení svých vnitřních produkčních a editoriálních směrnic. Práce je zasazena do historického kontextu s důrazem na vývoj interní regulace médií a etiku novinářské práce. Následuje popis kauzy a seznámení se staršími vydáními směrnic, kdy se komparací aplikovaných změn v nových editoriálních směrnicích seznamujeme s konkrétními požadavky ke zlepšení práce novinářů BBC.
