První tvoří překlad úryvku z knihy Gyue Deutschera Through the Language Glass: Why the World Looks Different in Other Languages z angličtiny do češtiny. Druhá část práce má podobu komentáře k překladu. Nejprve se věnuje analýze výchozího textu, na jejímž základě stanovuje překladatelskou metodu. Dále komentář zahrnuje rozbor konkrétních překladatelských problémů, odůvodňuje zvolená řešení a nakonec se věnuje posunům, k nimž při překladu došlo.
This bachelor thesis comprises of two parts. The first part is the translation of selected section of the book Through the Language Glass: Why the World Looks Different in Other Languages by Guy Deutscher from English into Czech. The second part contains a commentary on the translation. It analyses the source text and determines the translation method. The commentary then deals with individual translation problems and their solutions, and the final part is devoted to translation shifts that occurred during the process of translation.
