Konec liberální demokracie v České republice?

Abstract

This thesis discusses the state of democracy in the Czech Republic. As its name suggests, the aim is to answer the question of whether the end of liberal democracy is coming. According to the authors hypothesis, The Czech Republic had experienced a significant shift in political development, and it had in recent years turned away from the liberal democratic order. In the first part of this thesis, the author introduces the concept of liberal democracy from a theoretical point of view, including its development, with emphasis on the problematic genesis. It also covers concepts such as defective or illiberal democracies. Based on this, the author then formulates the criteria of liberal democracy. The second part of the thesis describes the political development of the Czech Republic with emphasis on the period after 1989 while observing the fulfilment of the criteria described by the Author. Regarding the research question, the author also formulates the thought whether the past in the Czech Republic liberal democracy was established or not and submits its claim for this argument. Tato diplomová práce pojednává o stavu demokracie v České republice. Jak napovídá její název, cílem je odpovědět na otázku, zda nastává konec liberální demokracie v České republice. Hypotézou, ze které autor vychází, je, že politický vývoj v České republice zaznamenal výraznou proměnu a země se tak v posledních letech odvrací od liberálně demokratického uspořádání. V první části práce proto autor představuje koncept liberální demokracie z teoretického pohledu, včetně jeho vývoje s důrazem na problematickou genezi. Představeny jsou i koncepty jako defektní či neliberální demokracie. Na základě toho následně autor formuluje kritéria liberální demokracie. Další část práce popisuje politický vývoj České republiky s důrazem na období po roce 1989 s cílem prozkoumat, zda došlo k naplnění kritérií liberální demokracie. S ohledem na výzkumnou otázku autor rovněž formuluje tezi o tom, zda v minulosti v České republice došlo k etablování liberální demokracie či nikoliv, a předkládá pro toto své tvrzení argumenty. Jedná se tedy o případovou studii s využitím kvalitativní analýzy. Práce vznikla jako reakce na značně chaotickou debatu ve veřejném prostoru, v níž zaznívají tvrzení o konci první České republiky ze stran novinářů i politiků, aniž by byly zmíněny souvislosti a racionální argumenty.
