Pálení čarodějnic: Historie a současná podoba tradice

Abstract

Bachelor thesis "Burning of the witches: History and current form of tradition deals with history of Walpurgis Night custom of burning of the witches in the Czech culture with comparation with traditions in the surrounding countries. Its purpose was to find out how this custom was transformed into its present form over the centuries and to describe and analyse its contemporary form. To obtain actual data, fieldwork was conducted, in several selected municipalities in northern Bohemia. Research has been implemented by attended observation and unstructured or semi-structured interviews. The purpose was to obtain data about the course of the events themselves, the interpretation of the organizers and participants and the accompanying activities.

Bakalářská práce "Pálení čarodějnic: Historie a současná podoba tradice" se zaobírá historií pálení čarodějnic v českém prostředí s komparací s tradicemi v okolních zemích. Jejím cílem bylo zjistit, jak se tento zvyk během minulých staletí transformoval do své současné podoby, a tuto dnešní formu popsat a analyzovat. Pro získání aktuálních dat byl proveden sondážní terénní výzkum v rámci několika vybraných obcí v severních Čechách. Výzkum byl realizován metodou zúčastněného pozorování a nestrukturovaných či polostrukturovaných rozhovorů. Účelem bylo poznat průběh samotných akcí, pohled organizátorů a účastníků a doprovodné aktivity a jevy.
