Britsko-španělské vztahy v letech 1739 až 1748

Abstract

Tato diplomová práce se bude zabývat britsko-španělskými vztahy v letech 1739 až 1748. Hlavním bodem práce bude především válka o Jenkinsovo ucho. Jednalo se o koloniální konflikt, který se odehrával mezi Velkou Británií a Španělskem v zámoří v oblasti Karibiku, severního pobřeží Jižní Ameriky či Floridy. Práce se také bude zabývat napjatou dobou před vypuknutím války, jejími příčinami, průběhem a důsledky tohoto konfliktu. Válka byla vyprovokována známou aférou týkající se kapitána Roberta Jenkinse. Tato válka bývá často opomíjena z důvodu, že se stala součástí většího konfliktu a prakticky splynula s válkou o rakouské dědictví, která probíhala v Evropě v letech 1740 až 1748. V neposlední řadě proto bude předmětem diplomové práce i vývoj britsko-španělských vztahů na evropském poli, který měl na konflikt v zámoří vliv. Právě mír v Cáchách ukončil válku o rakouské dědictví, tak i válku o Jenkinsovo ucho.

This diploma thesis will deal with British-Spanish relations from 1739 to 1748. Main point of the thesis will be war of Jenkin's Ear. It was a colonial conflict that look place between Great Britain and Spain overseas in the Caribbean, the North Coast of South America or Florida. The work will also deal with the tense time before the outbreak of war, its causes, course and consequences of this conflict. The war was provoked by a familiar affair involving Captain Robert Jenkins. This war is often neglected because it became part of a larger conflict and practically merged with the War of Austrian Succession, which took place in Europe from 1740 to 1748. Last but not least, the subject of the thesis will also be the development of British- Spanish relations in the European field that had an impact on the conflict overseas. It was peace in Aachen that ended the war on the Austrian heritage, as well as the war on Jenkins' ear.
