Hlavní města v dějinách Bengálska

Abstract

Throughout the history of Bengal we find many cities, that filled the role of authority center for the whole region in different historical periods. This thesis aims to map those capital cities in the territory of Bengal from oldest times up till present according to historical sources and archeological relics analyzed in available secondary literature. The first part of the thesis describes historical events, which are directly related to relocation of capital cities. The second part summarizes the history of most important capital cities of Bengal. The last part compares and analyses the reasons for relocation, as well as reasons why particular cities were chosen to become a new center of the country.

V dějinách Bengálska nalezneme mnoho měst, která sloužila v různých historických obdobích jako mocenská centra celého regionu. Práce si klade za cíl zmapovat tato hlavní města na území Bengálska od nejstarší doby po současnost - dle historických pramenů a archeologických pozůstatků zpracovaných v dostupné sekundární literatuře. V první části popisuje historické události, které přímo souvisí s přesunem jednotlivých hlavních měst. V další kapitole je shrnuta historie několika známějších bengálských hlavních měst. V poslední části jsou porovnávány a rozebírány jak důvody přesunů hlavních měst, tak i důvody, proč byla právě tato města vybrána, aby se stala novým centrem země.
