Aktivizační programy v sociálních zařízeních pro seniory

Abstract

This doctoral thesis broadly extends and expands upon the author's previous work regarding the activity levels and education of the elderly in nursing homes. The introductory section deals with the theoretical aspect of problems connected with the ageing process. It also maps the provision of social services for the elderly in the Czech Republic and the mechanisms for ensuring their quality. Further, it addresses the political strategies regarding the ageing population both here and on a European scale. The focus of this doctoral thesis is the chapter dealing with the activity levels of the elderly in nursing homes, including the most common techniques used when working with the elderly. The largest part is dedicated to zoo-therapy, as it is closely related to the author's research into residential homes for the elderly in the Czech Republic. The services offered in such places are both nursing-care and social-care orientated, including moderate exercise. The author regards as very important effective educational and exercise programmes which utilize the therapeutic effect of the natural environment and animals. Rigorózní práce volně navazuje a rozšiřuje autorčinu diplomovou práci zaměřenou na aktivizaci a edukaci seniorů v sociálních zařízeních. Úvodní část práce je věnována teoretickému ukotvení problematiky procesu stárnutí, mapuje sociální služby pro seniory v České republice a mechanismus kontroly jejich kvality; dále se dotýká politické strategie vůči stárnutí obyvatel u nás i v evropském měřítku. Těžištěm rigorózní práce je kapitola pojednávající o aktivizaci starých lidí v sociálních zařízeních, popsány jsou nejčastěji využívané techniky práce se seniory. Nejvíce prostoru je věnováno zooterapii, jelikož úzce souvisí s autorčiným výzkumem v rámci pobytových sociálních zařízení pro seniory v České republice. Zde poskytované služby mají charakter zdravotní a sociální péče, včetně zmiňované aktivizace. Autorka za velice důležité pokládá efektivní edukačně-aktivizační programy využívající terapeuticky přínosného vlivu přírodního prostředí a zvířat. Druhá část rigorózní práce je praktická. Cílem výzkumu bylo zjistit, jaký vliv mají zvířata na seniory v pobytových zařízeních, případně na ošetřující personál a jaké jsou nejčastější překážky v zavádění zooterapie do praxe ústavních zařízení.
