Glucocorticoids hormone, bone tissue, growth, inhatation corticosteroids, IGF-ITématem bakalářské práce je zmapování účinku suprafyziologických dávek kortikoidních hormonů na rostoucí organizmus. Zejména negativní účinek na celkový růst dítěte a rozvoj kostní denzity je doložen u glukokortikoidů, resp. kortizolu a jeho derivátů. Primárním zdrojem zvýšené hladiny kortikoidů v organizmu jsou léčebné indikace. Jejich protizánětlivé a imunosupresívní účinky jsou využívány při léčbě řady onemocnění (těžké a často opakované infekce, chronická onemocnění - zejména GIT, autoimunitní onemocnění apod.). Vzácným zdrojem hyperkortikalizmu jsou v dětském věku hormonálně aktivní nádory (karcinom kůry nadledvin). Zvláštní pozornost je v tomto výčtu věnovaná studiím, sledujícím ovlivnění růstu, resp. finální výšky a kvality kostní tkáně u pacientů s astma bronchiale na dlouhodobé terapii inhalačními kortikoidy.
This Bachelor's thesis examines the effect of elevated level of corticoid hormons on growing organism. The negative effect of glucocorticoid hormones and their derivates is evidenced especially on child growth and growth of bone density. Primary source of the elevated level of corticoids in organism are medicaments. The anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects of the glucocorticoids are used in medical treatment of various diseases (infections, chronical diseases - especially GIT, autoimmune diseases etc.). The rare source of the hypercorticoidism in childhood are hormonally active tumors (the tumor of the adrenal cortex). The main part of the Bachelor's thesis deals with impact of long-term inhalation of glucocorticoid hormones on body height and quality of bone tissue of the patients with astma bronchiale.
