Vzdělávání Romů jako téma lidských práv

Abstract

Práce se zabývá rozsudkem Evropského soudu pro lidská práva vydaným v roce 2007, na jehož základě byla Česká republika usvědčena z diskriminace a segregace Romů ve vzdělávání. V první části práce je zkoumána historie romského etnika, která je problematická a stále ovlivňuje vztah romské minority a zbytku společnosti - i když často nevědomě. V další části jsou rozebrány aktuální zákony, které se k problematice vztahují, průzkumy a zprávy vypovídající o současné situaci a především proces D. H. a ostatní proti České republice, jeho dopady a reakce na něj, které spustily řadu změn v systému školství. Poslední část práce uvádí, zda tyto změny působí a jak, zda sledují cíle, které byly určeny a zda se jimi povedlo zrušit či omezit diskriminaci Romů v českém školství. The thesis focuses on the trial D. H. and others versus the Czech Republic held by the European Court of Human Rights in 2007. The verdict convicted the Czech Republic of discrimination of Roma in the educational system. The first part of the thesis examines the history of Roma in the Czech Republic because many troubles have their roots in the past. The second part deals with the current situation, Czech laws and other conventions on human rights. The thesis concludes with the discussion whether the formal changes, made because of the verdict of the trial D. H. and Others versus the Czech Republic, are corresponding to the real situation in the czech educational system and if the goal of ending discrimination Roma in schools has been fulfilled.
