Továrna a její oběti v české literatuře druhé poloviny 19. století

Abstract

Tématem této bakalářské práce je továrna jako topos v české literatuře druhé poloviny 19. století. Zaměřuje se především na prozaická díla Matěje Anastasia Šimáčka a Josefa Karla Šlejhara, která se odehrávají v továrnách. Zkoumá vzájemné vztahy člověka a hmoty: přeměnu člověka ve zvíře a stroj a na druhé straně ožívání továrny a její nabývání démonických či lidských rysů. Zabývá se také literárním zobrazením dopadů techniky na přírodu, do které zasahuje. Věnuje se také ženské otázce, zejména vztahům dělnic k práci v továrně a k mateřství.

This bachelor thesis is focused on the factory as the setting for Czech literary works of the second half of the 19th century. It deals in particular with prosaic works taking place in factories by Matěj Anastasius Šimáček and Josef Karel Šlejhar. It also explores the mutual relationship between a human being and the inanimate substance hidden in factories: the literary transformation of a human to an animal and to a machine, and on the other side, the way the factory comes to life and is depicted as a demon or a human being. It also deals with the impacts of the factories on the nature and women's attitude to work and motherhood.
