Subkultura graffiti z genderové perspektivy

Abstract

The thesis is focused on graffiti subculture from gender perspective. Subcultures are discussed in both class and gender context. Graffiti is traditionally perceived as part of Hip Hop subculture. Position of graffiti is determined within the frame of Hip Hop subculture and outside of it. That is when graffiti becomes a subculture itself. Power relationships are deeply rooted in hierarchy. That is characterized by untouchable position of the writers that are on the top of hierarchical system, whose side effect is exclusion of women graffiti writers. Another explored area focuses on gender stereotypes in graffiti and on the ways of restraining women's authority as graffiti writers. The final part examines the ways of how female writers make themselves visible and how they perceive their position in graffiti subculture in 2012.

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na subkulturu graffiti z genderové perspektivy. Diskutovány jsou subkultury v třídním i genderovém kontextu. Graffiti je tradičně vnímáno jako součást hiphopové subkultury. Proto je vymezena pozice graffiti v jejím rámci i mimo něj, kdy se stává samostatnou subkulturou. V subkultuře graffiti jsou dále zkoumány mocenské vztahy, které jsou silně hierarchicky zakořeněné. To se vyznačuje nedotknutelností jedinců na vrcholu hierarchického uspořádání s vedlejším efektem vylučování ženských writerek. Další zkoumanou oblastí jsou genderové bariéry, jimž ženy v graffiti čelí. Prozkoumány jsou genderové stereotypy v graffiti a způsoby snižování autority writerek. Finální část je zaměřena na způsoby, jimiž se ženy v graffiti jako writerky zviditelňují a jak vnímají svoji pozici v roce 2012.
