The bachelor thesis deals with the picture of Czech Society in the novels by A. M. Tilschova. The work is focused mainly on the decay of "old bourgeois families" as well as on the and on the representatives of bourgeois intelligentsia at the beginning of the 20th century. The analysis of authentic Czech Society is based on the novels: Stará rodina, Dědicové, Vykoupení and Alma mater.
