One of the mechanism how to prevent the spread of the conflict is the system of multilateral cooperation. Peacekeeping operations are one of the instruments for conflict settlement. Beside the system of United Nations in past years occurs another structure that could be used for peacekeeping missions. For example we can use regional organizations. Many literatures is focused on UN system and its work, fewer of them are concerning the fact of regional organization and just few of them are related to the factor of cooperation between UN and regional organizations. This is the vacancy these papers want to address. Cooperation is the main factor studying in this thesis. Vedoucí diplomové práce Oldřich Bureš, PhD Abstrakt Výskyt konfliktů v nestabilních regionech je jednou z největších hrozeb současného mezinárodního systému a mnoha států. Jedním z mechanismů, jak se šíření konfliktů dá zabránit, je mnohostranná spolupráce. Operace peacekeeping (PK) jsou jedním z nástrojů pro řešení konfliktů. V posledních letech se vyvinula vedle OSN ještě další struktura, která může být pro vedení využita - regionální organizace (RO). Velké množství literatury se věnuje systému OSN a jeho práci, méně již se soustředí na RO a jen velice málo titulů je věnováno problematice jejich spolupráce. Právě tento nedostatek je touto prací adresován. Spolupráce je hlavním předmětem výzkumu této práce. Abychom byli schopni analyzovat tento faktor, je třeba využít několik různých teoretických rámců v rámci mezinárodních vztahů. Nejprve je to samotná teorie mezinárodních vztahů. V rámci zajištění přehlednosti byly teorie rozděleny do skupin tradičních teorií a současných přístupů.
