Princezna Železný vějíř: Analýza animované adaptace části románu Putování na západ

Abstract

The thesis contains a comparative analysis of the movie Tieshan gongzhu 铁扇公主 (Princess Iron Fan) (1941) and the corresponding part of the novel Xiyouji (Journey to the West), of which is the film a loose adaptation. It will present the specifics of the meaning construction of the compared narratives: classical chapter novel and the first Chinese animated feature film with sound. Taking into account the cultural and social historical context, the thesis emphasizes the accents and meaning-making strategies used by the authors of the film adaptation (director, animators). It focuses on the motifs of patriotism, religious-philosophical elements, the use of music, and a visual analysis of the film's main characters.

Práce předkládá srovnávací analýzu filmu Tieshan gongzhu 铁扇公主 (Princezna Železný vějíř) (1941) a příslušné části románu Xiyouji (Putování na západ), jejíž je film volnou adaptací. Práce představuje specifika významové výstavby srovnávaných narativů: klasického kapitolového románu a prvního čínského celovečerního animovaného zvukového filmu. S přihlédnutím ke kulturnímu a společenskohistorickému kontextu práce zdůrazňuje akcenty a významotvorné strategie uplatněné autory filmové adaptace (režisérem, animátory). Pozornost je věnována motivům patriotismu, nábožensko- filosofickým prvkům, využití hudby a vizuální analýze hlavních postav filmu.
