Mytologie českého rapu

Abstract

The central theme of the bachelor thesis is the mythological gestures of the rap world and the transformation of their meaning in a different cultural environment than the one in which they were originally created. The thesis compares the work of rappers Yzomandias, Ca$hanova Bulhar, Steve Sniff, Dollar Prync and Viktor Sheen between 2014 and 2024, based on the mythologies of family, rise from the bottom, tradition and opposition. n the conclusion, the overall mythological structure is generalised and a coherent picture is given. The aim of the thesis is to characterize the established structure of rap, to interpret its conventional motivic structures through the symbolism of gestures, based on the theory of Roland Barthes, and to create new ways of thinking about Czech rap in a comparative context with the American tradition. Ústředním tématem bakalářské práce jsou mytologická gesta rapového světa a proměny jejich významu v jiném kulturním prostředí, než v tom, ve kterém původně vznikaly. Práce komparuje tvorbu rapperů Yzomandia, Ca$hanovy Bulhara, Steva Sniffa, Dollar Prynce a Viktora Sheena v letech 2014-2024, a to na základě mytologie rodiny, vzestupu ze dna, tradice a opozice. V závěru pak celkovou mytologickou strukturu zobecňuje a podává její koherentní obraz. Cílem práce je charakterizovat ustálenou strukturu rapu, vyložit jeho konvenční motivické struktury prostřednictvím symboliky gest, vycházející z teorie Rolanda Barthese, a vytvořit nové možnosti uvažování o českém rapu v komparativním kontextu s americkou tradicí.
