v anglickém jazyce The bachelor thesis focuses on boxing in Czechoslovakia in the years 1948-1968, when sport was used as a tool to educate and shape citizens according to the needs of the regime. The thesis analyses the unification and organisation of the sport, the role of boxing, the organisation of the sport and its presentation to the public. Methodologically, it is inspired by Michel Foucoult's concept of bio-power. Boxing in this period was understood not only as a sport discipline, but also as a means of control and education promoting collectivism, conscription and all-round development of individuals, including health. Through physical education, laws and rules, the state sought to mould the individual to its requirements. The research is based on archival sources, contemporary literature, press and professional publications. The research shows that sport was part of the state's strategy to create a new citizen through sport.
