Židé ve středověké Praze za vlády Karla IV.

Abstract

The aim of the work is to describe the importance of Jews in Prague during the reign of Charles IV. Through debt entries of the town court book as the main source, I tried to outline the importance of Jewish financiers in the first half of the 14th. century in the capital of the lands of the Czech Crown. Part of it is reflection on the development of Jewish settlement in the Czech lands with regard to significant events affecting Jews of the Holy Roman Empire, specifically the wave of pogroms which happened in the years 1346-49.

Cílem práce je přiblížit roli Židů v Praze za panování Karla IV. Za použití městské knihy soudní Starého Města pražského jako hlavního pramene jsem se pokusil načrtnout význam židovských finančníků v první polovině 14. století v hlavním městě zemí Koruny české. Součástí práce je zamyšlení nad vývojem židovského osídlení v českých zemích s ohledem na významné události ovlivňující postavení a život Židů na území Svaté Říše římské, konkrétně na vlnu pogromů z let 1346-49.
