This paper describes current political situation in Cuba and defines the country's political system. The main aim of the paper is to analyze the emerging opposition in Cuba and to divide it into particular groups or types. The author does not aspire to present and exhaustive list of all opposition groups, and it is therefore possible some of quite important ones are not listed here. The listing we will find in this paper aims to prove how diverse the Cuban opposition is nowadays using just a few telling examples. It is the diversity of opposition and civil society groups which is one of very important aspects in a society that strives for transition towards a more democratic regime. To prove this diversity the author has used Skilling's typology of opposition groups in non-democratic regimes and adjusted it to specific aspects of the situation in Cuba and according to how these groups are viewed by their own representatives either in Cuba or in exile.
