Obraz holokaustu v narativech a "místech paměti"

Abstract

My thesis is devoted to various discourses regarding the Holocaust, and methods of representing events closely wedded to the Holocaust. I follow two lines of relation to the Holocaust - the main themes of my dissertation are questions regarding the function of seemingly non-living sites of memory (material participants) and questions regarding the significance of narratives (de facto nonmaterial participants), both with respect to the image of the Holocaust that these two institutions construct. I examine in detail the character of "sites of memory" and the nature of narratives, and I attempt to delve into the structure of memory that these institutions are supposed to represent, to reveal the mechanisms used by these institutions to work with memory, and what sort of image of the Holocaust they portray. In my thesis I try to clarify the issue of the mechanisms of memory, its dynamism, and dependence on context and location. Through an analysis of the narratives of Holocaust survivors, I strive to present key moments and thematic areas of narration. I touch upon the problem of limits and the crisis in representing the Holocaust. Ve své práci se budu věnovat charakteru a podobě narativů vztahujích se k obecné paměti na holokaust, obsahu i struktuře narativů ve vztahu k materialitě míst (rsp. pokusím se o analýzu narativů a jejich konstrukce na základě prožívání materiality a charakteru míst - ghett, koncentračních a vyhlazovacích táborů). Zajímat mě bude jakým způsobem, kdy, při jakých příležitostech, a jakou formou je zmiňováno místo či jiné důležité materiální odkazy, a jakým způsobem se do "architektury paměti" (konstrukce narativu a konstrukce paměti) odráží "architetura místa" (zpětné vnímání místa a děje narátorem). Dále budou předmětem mého zájmu "místa paměti" či "místa traumatu" vytvářená /přetvářená v poválečné době, v době po holokaustu, a to místa konstruovaná právě za účelem konzervace paměti, komemorace, místa veřejná a místa setkávání vytvářená s ideou stát se místy vzpomínek (muzea, pomníky, památníky). Tato místa mě budou při analýze zajímat s ohledem ke svému vztahu k obsahu narativů, způsobu jakým právě tato místa ex post formují paměť narátorů; jak tato místa slouží jakožto kostra/syžet narace. Pokusím se ve své práci o analýzu narativů nejen ve vztahu k materialitě a odkazům na ni, zajímat mě též budou narativy samotné jakožto specifická forma sebeprezentace vypravěčů, a zároveň specifická forma...
