Dóm svatej Alžběty v Košiciach

Abstract

Cieľom tejto diplomovej práce je spracovať v kompaktnej forme dejiny Dómu sv. Alžbety v Košiciach z hľadiska teológa. K hlbšiemu poznaniu katedrály patrí nie len história architektúry, ale aj teologický význam, sakrálne a náboženské dôvody, z ktorých vznikol. Ďalej som uznala za vhodné venovať sa obdobiu gotiky z hľadiska dobového pozadia a sociálnych pomerov, a z kultúrneho hľadiska v rámci architektúry. Na gotický sloh naväzuje história Dómu svätej Alžbety v Košiciach, charakteristickým rysom tejto časti je podrobný popis dejín výstavby a udalostí v politickom a cirkevnom živote. Posledná kapitola je venovaná krídlovému oltáru Dómu svätej Alžbety a v rámci toho na jednotlivé výjavy zo života svätej Alžbety Durínskej, nazvaný ako Alžbetínsky cyklus. The aim of this diploma thesis is to provide the history of the Cathedral of St. Elisabeth in Košice in a compact manner from the view of a student of theology. To achieve a wider knowledge of the Cathedral in addition to its architectural history it is necessary to deal with the sacral and religious reasons of its birth. The following part of the thesis presents the gothic era from historical, social and cultural point of view. The next chapter deals with the history of the Cathedral, its bulding process and the political situation of the region. The last part of the thesis describes the triptych of the Cathedral, more in detail the so called Elisabeth cycle, which presents significant moments of life of St. Elisabeth.
