Czechoslovakia and Indonesia in President Sukarno's Era This bachelor thesis studies Czechoslovak and Indonesian relationships during the president Sukarno's era. In addition to providing facts based on analyzing archival sources, the text includes memories of contemporary witnesses to some of the events described. The period concerned is studied in a broader historical context, including the fact that the then Czechoslovakia followed the Soviet model in all international issues (after 1953 also in the issue of creating relationships with developing countries). Czechoslovakia therefore became an intermediary between the USSR and Indonesia. The text introduces significant milestones in the mutual relationships, including, but not limited to, president Sukarno's visit to Czechoslovakia. Reciprocal exchanges in the business and cultural fields are mentioned as well. Part of the thesis brings a portrait of president Sukarno, who was personally remembered by some Czechoslovaks. The thesis also describes one specific example of cultural exchange, in particular an excursion of Radost (Joy) theatre to Indonesia in 1958.
