Abstract

On what is and what ought to be Řešitel: Barbora Pořízková Vedoucí práce: doc. James Hill, Ph.D. Abstract: This bachelor thesis aims to investigate one of the most crucial metaethical issues, so called Hume's law. Within the framework of this theses I would like to analyze various interpretation of Hume's law, put them in the context of Hume's Treatise and at the same time question the obviousness of reduction of normative statements to evaluative judgments. It should also elucidate, what problem does Hume's principle means for most important ethical theories and for ethics as a whole and outline possible solution which is provided by modern philosophy.

James Hill, Ph.D. Abstrakt: Tato bakalářské práce si klade za cíl prozkoumat jeden z nejzásadnějších metaetických problémů, tzv. Humeův zákon. V rámci této práce bych chtěla prozkoumat různé interpretace Humeova zákona, zasadit je do kontextu Humeova Treatise a zároveň zpochybnit samozřejmost redukce normativních tvrzení na hodnotové soudy. Práce by měla také objasnit, jaký problém představuje Humeův zákon pro nejvýznamnější etické teorie a pro etiku vůbec a nastínit možné řešení moderní filozofie.
