Konstituování postavy upíra v literatuře 19. a počátku 20. století

Abstract

Diplomová práce se věnuje zobrazení postavy upíra v literatuře 19. století, a to zejména z naratologického pohledu. Primární literaturu tvoří prozaické texty evropské. Těžiště výkladu spočívá v komparaci postavy upíra, tedy ve srovnání jeho vyobrazení v jednotlivých literárních textech z hlediska funkce, jíž plní v rámci celkového uspořádání příběhu. Jedná se o přehledovou práci, která pomocí komparativní metody mapuje motiv upíra v rámci evropské literatury vymezeného období. Práce obsahuje kulturně-antropologický nástin, jenž slouží jako uvedení do dané problematiky a jako podklad pro komparaci shodných rysů mezi upírem folklorním a upírem literárním. Stěžejní pro práci je klasifikace modů fantastiky navržená Nancy H. Traillovou.

The diploma thesis deals with the representation of a vampire in 19th century literature, especially from a narratological point of view. Primary literature consist mostly of an European prose texts. The core part studies character of a vampire in texts and his function in particular stories. It is an overview, which with a help of comparative method maps the vampire theme within the Euroepan literature of the defined period. The thesis contains a culturally-anthropological outline which serves as an introduction to the given issue and as a basis for comparison of the same features between the folk vampire and the literary vampire. Essential method for my work is the classification of fantasy modes designed by Nancy H. Traill.
