Talk show jako televizní žánr bavící USA i ČR

Abstract

The topic of this Bachelor's thesis, Talk show as a TV genre entertaining the USA and the Czech Republic, is talk show as a genre connected with the origin and development of american TV entertainment, that, after the Velvet Revolution, got into our own televisions, as well. The thesis is divided into two sections - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical section, the thesis deals with the definiton and interpretation of the talk show concept, then it deals with talk show as both a TV genre and a format, circumscribes the key identification characteristics of this genre and categorises it to three main subgenres - late-night talk show, daytime talk show and informational talk show. Other fields of interest of this thesis are also genres that preceded the talk show genre or its elements. Theoretical section is then concluded by the history of talk show in the United States, the country of origin of this genre, along with its footprint in the Czech media landscape. Practical section then aims for recognition of any correspondences and differences in schemes of late-night talk show between the Czech Republic and the USA, using comparative analysis. Representing the Czech talk show in the analysis is Show Jana Krause, representing the American talk show is then The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Tématem bakalářské práce Talk show jako televizní žánr bavící USA i ČR je talk show coby žánr spjatý se vznikem a vývojem americké televizní zábavy, který po Sametové revoluci pronikl i na naše televizní obrazovky. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí - teoretické a praktické. V teoretické části se práce zabývá definicí a vysvětlením pojmu talk show, dále se zaměřuje na talk show jako na televizní žánr i formát, vymezuje blíže klíčové a identifikační charakteristiky tohoto žánru a kategorizuje ho na tři hlavní subžánry - late- night talk show, daytime talk show a informational talk show. Oblastí zájmu této práce jsou také jiné žánry, které talk show předcházely, či jejich prvky, které si vypůjčuje. Teoretickou část uzavírá historie talk show ve Spojených státech amerických, v zemi vzniku tohoto televizního žánru, spolu se stopou, kterou talk show zanechala v české mediální krajině. Praktická část si klade za cíl pomocí komparativní analýzy rozpoznat případné shodnosti a rozdíly v pojetí a provedení konkrétního subžánru - late-night talk show - v České republice a Spojených státech amerických. Zástupcem české talk show je v analýze pořad Show Jana Krause, zástupcem z amerického televizního prostředí je pořad The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
