Abstract

Impact of working with the map on mental map of pupils Abstract The aim of this thesis is to find out whether the way of working with the map affects the form of the mental map of pupils. The adjoining aim of this study is to find out how the selected factors affect their quality. Among these factors there is included the place of residence, gender, the popularity of geography and a mark of this subjekt, and also general geographic map. The theoretical part defines key concepts such as perception, mental maps, cartographic methods of visualizations and that accompany all this work. Furthermore the thesis contains its own research where is define the methodology of data collection and the metodology of evaluation of this data. Subsequently, the mental maps of pupils are evaluated. During the evaluation, the emphasis is placed on the content of the mental maps and for the frequency of the drawn elements on pupil's mental maps. An important finding of this research is that the image of mental map of the pupils is influenced by the way of working with the map and that pupils interpret more elements only by reading the map, rather then by working with questions. Vliv práce s mapou na podobu mentální mapy žáků Abstrakt Cílem této bakalářské práce je zjistit, zda způsob práce s mapou má vliv na podobu mentální mapy žáků. Vedlejším cílem pak je zjistit, jak ovlivňují vybrané faktory jejich kvalitu. Mezi tyto faktory je zařazeno místo bydliště, pohlaví, oblíbenost a známka ze zeměpisu, a také charakteristika obecně geografické mapy. Teoretická část vymezuje klíčové pojmy, jako jsou percepce, mentální mapa, kartografické vyjadřovací prostředky, které provází celou tuto práci. Dále práce zahrnuje vlastní výzkum, ve kterém je navržena metodika sběru dat a jejich vyhodnocování. Následně jsou mentální mapy žáků hodnoceny. Během vyhodnocování je kladen důraz především na obsah mentálních map a na četnost zakreslených prvků v mentálních mapách žáků. Důležitým zjištěním tohoto výzkumu je, že na podobu mentální mapy žáků má vliv způsob práce s mapou, a že žáci zakreslí více prvků pouze díky čtení z mapy nikoliv na základě práce s otázkami. Stejně tak má na mentální mapu žáků vliv charakter předložené mapy Česka. Naopak jejich mentální mapy neovlivňuje pohlaví, ani známka ze zeměpisu či oblíbenost tohoto předmětu.
