Abstract

Settlements Morphology within the suburban zone of Prague This bachelor's thesis works on the topic of settlements morphology and structure of suburban landscape. The main aim of this paper is to measure and explain the changes in morphology of settlements in suburban zone of Prague after 1990. The paper shows that the morphology of post-socialist city hinterland is very specific and for this reason we specify the concept of urban sprawl into a form valid for post-socialist city. This concept is operationalized into three dimensions: settlement density, settlement structure and land-use pattern. The main benefit of this paper is the measure of urban sprawl itself and the surveillance of its evolution between 2007 and 2016. This paper shows that the evolution of urban sprawl is paradoxical in some ways and so it doesn't correspond to the general discourse about effects of suburbanisation. We explore urban sprawl on the level of urban region and two municipalities (Modletice, Ohrobec) where we focus on the particular effects and development participants. Morfologie sídel suburbánní zóny Prahy Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá morfologií sídel v zázemí Prahy a celkovou strukturou suburbánní krajiny. Hlavním cílem této práce je změřit a vysvětlit změny v morfologii sídel, které nastaly po roce 1990 v zázemí Prahy. Práce ukazuje, že morfologie zázemí post- socialistického města je velice specifická, a proto specifikuje koncept urban sprawl pro post- socialistické město a tento koncept operacionalizuje pro měření do tří dimenzí: hustota zástavby, struktura zástavby, land-use vzorec. Hlavním přínosem práce je pak samotné měření urban sprawl a sledování jeho vývoje mezi lety 2007 a 2016. Ukazuje se, že tento vývoj je v některých ohledech paradoxní a neodpovídá plně dominantnímu diskurzu o projevech suburbanizace. Práce zkoumá urban sprawl v měřítku celého městského regionu a ve dvou případových studiích (obce Modletice a Ohrobec) se zaměřuje na konkrétní projevy a aktéry.
