Politická participace Romů v Českých Budějovicích

Abstract

Cílem této bakalářské práce je analyzovat politickou participaci Romů v Českých Budějovicích. Teoretická část seznamuje čtenáře s problémy, které nejvíce postihují život romské menšiny a nezanedbatelně ovlivňují i jejich politickou aktivitu. Autor představuje vývoj doposud nejúspěšnější, avšak již zaniklé romské politické strany, Romské občanské iniciativy a zabývá se i současnou romskou politickou scénu, na níž hodnotí fungování jejích dvou aktivních aktérů, Romské demokratické strany a Strany rovných příležitostí. Analytická část se již zaměřuje na konkrétní lokalitu Českých Budějovic. Snaží se najít příčiny slabé politické participace místních Romů a najít vhodný postup, který by jim ulehčil cestu do komunální politiky. Na základě provedeného výzkumu, metodu polostrukturovaného rozhovoru s romskými respondenty a českobudějovickým zastupitelem, práce dospěla k závěru, že romští političtí kandidáti postrádají podporu své komunity a rovněž majoritní politické strany jim nevytváří adekvátní podmínky k jejich kýženému úspěchu.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the political participation of the Romani minority in České Budějovice. The theoretical part introduces the reader to the problems that most affect the life of the minority of Romani people and also influence their political activity. The author presents the most successful, yet extinct political party, the Romani people Citizens Initiative, and is also concerned with the current Romani people political scene, which evaluates the functioning of its two actors, the Romani Democratic Party and the Party of Equal Opportunities. The analytical part is focused on the specific locality of České Budějovice. It tries to find the causes of the weak political participation of local Romani people and to find a suitable procedure to make easily their way local politics. Based on the research, the semi-structured interview with the Romani people respondents and the municipal politician of České Budějovice, the work came to the conclusion that political candidates of the Romani people lack support from their own community and that the majority political parties did not create adequate conditions for their desired success.
