V teoretické části byl vysvětlen pojem císařský řez, jeho indikacemi, kontraindikacemi, rizika, komplikace. Dále byly popsány druhy anestezie a její indikace, kontraindikace u jednotlivých druhů anestezie a jejich výhody a nevýhody. Empirická část je založena na dotazníkovém výzkumném šetření, které bylo provedeno u žen po operačním ukončení porodu císařským řezem v Oblastní nemocnici Kolín, a.s. na gynekologicko-porodnickém oddělení šestinedělí a JIP. Hlavním cílem práce bylo zjistit a porovnat spokojenost žen v celkovou či svodnou anestezií. Dalšími cíli práce bylo ze zjištěných výsledků posoudit, zda rodičky znaly pojem analgezie, anestezie, zda jim bylo poskytnuto dostatek informací, času na otázky, adekvátní místo na rozhovor a zda předkládaným informacím porozuměly.
