Abstract

Urbanizace a suburbanizace v městských regionech Prahy a Vídně Darina Posová Abstrakt Dizertační práce se zaměřuje na výzkum urbanizace a urbanizačních procesů v městských regionech Prahy a Vídně. Analyzuje, srovnává a hodnotí urbanizaci a suburbanizaci v městských regionech Prahy a Vídně v období před pádem a po pádu železné opony. Záměrem této práce je sledovat několik křížících se rovin srovnání. Srovnání má za cíl ukázat, jak se lišil urbanizační proces v bývalém socialistickém a současném post- socialistickém městě od urbanizačního procesu v kapitalistickém městě, jehož rozvoj nebyl ovlivněn principy direktivně řízeného společenského systému. Dizertační práci tvoří dvě hlavní části. V první části jsou představeny obecné přístupy ke studiu urbanizace a suburbanizace a shrnutí výsledků analýz městských regionů Prahy a Vídně. Druhá část je kolekcí šesti publikovaných a k publikování odeslaných příspěvků analyzujících rozmístění obyvatelstva a bydlení, novou bytovou výstavbu v městském regionu Prahy a srovnávajících urbanizaci v městských regionech Prahy a Vídně v 80. a 90. letech 20. století. Vstupní část představuje zaměření dizertační práce a vývoj přístupu ke studiu suburbanizace v kontextu urbánního vývoje postsocialistických měst. Urbanization and suburbanization in urban regions of Prague and Vienna Darina Posová Abstract This PhD thesis is focused on the research of the urbanization and urbanization processes in the urban regions of Prague and Vienna. It analyses, compares and evaluates the urbanization and suburbanization in the urban regions of Prague and Vienna before and after the fall of the Iron Curtain. The objective of the thesis is to follow several intersecting levels of comparison. The comparison aims at showing the difference between the urbanization process in a former socialist and contemporary post-socialist city and the urbanization process in a capital city the development of which was not influenced by the principles of a directive social system. The thesis consists of two major parts. In the first part, general approaches to urbanization and suburbanization research are introduced and the results of an analysis of Prague and Vienna urban regions are summarized. The second part consists of six published or submitted papers analyzing the spatial distribution of population, housing, new housing construction in Prague urban region as well as comparing urbanization in Prague and Vienna urban regions in 1980s and 1990s.
