William Ewart Gladstone a pokus o první Home Rule

Abstract

Předložená práce si klade za cíl představit události, které provázely první návrh home rule pro Irsko, předložený ministerským předsedou Williamem Ewartem Gladstonem. Nejprve se věnuje sociálnímu a politickému kontextu ve druhé polovině devatenáctého století, následně zákonu jako takovému a nakonec reakcím politické reprezentace i široké věřejnosti.
