Latinská návštěvnická graffita z oblasti Théb v kontextu cestovatelství v římském Egyptě

Abstract

Tato práce se zabývá latinskými návštěvnickými graffity z lokalit v thébské oblasti, konkrétně z Memnónových kolosů a královských hrobek z Údolí králů. Popis a analýzu obou souborů nápisů následuje jejich srovnání. Graffita jsou také zasazena do širšího kontextu dějin římského Egypta, vývoje fenoménu turismu v Egyptě, užití a rozšíření Latiny v římské provincii Egypt a také dalších nelatinských nápisů ze stejných lokalit. This paper deals with Latin visitors' graffiti from sites in Theban region, namely from the Memnon colossi and the royal tombs from the Valley of the Kings. The description and analysis of both sets of inscriptions are followed by a comparison of the material. The graffiti are also put in the broader context of the history of Roman Egypt, the development of the phenomenon of tourism in Egypt, the use and spread of Latin in the Roman province of Egypt and also other non-Latin inscriptions from same sites.
