Trojúhelníková diplomacie - vzájemný vliv americko-čínských a americko-sovětských vztahů za Nixonovy administrativy

Abstract

Tato práce se zabývá problematikou trojúhelníkové diplomacie, tj. Nixonovy a Kissingerovy zahraničněpolitické strategie, která cílevědomě pracuje s propojeností čínsko-amerického sblížení s politikou uvolňování napětí se Sovětským svazem. Rozhodli jsme se sesbírat informace z různých zdrojů a spojit je do soudržné podoby. Analyzujeme mezinárodní kontext, který předcházel vzniku trojúhelníkové diplomacie a do něhož byla zasazena, dále vysvětlujeme vztahy mezi klíčovými hráči - USA, SSSR a komunistickou Čínou. Práce rovněž věnuje pozornost tvůrcům konceptu - Henrymu Kissingerovi a Richardu Nixonovi - a jejich vzájemnému vztahu. Rozebíráme všechny klíčové aspekty trojúhelníkové diplomacie, tj. principy, na nichž je postavena, její mechanismus a její cíle. Vysvětlujeme také, jakým způsobem navazuje na strategie předchozí a v čem se od nich naopak liší. Práce též obsahuje širokou škálu příkladů - a používá mnoha přímých citací - na nichž se mechanismus trojúhelníkové diplomacie má možnost vyjevit. Došli jsme k závěru, že tento princip skutečně fungoval, tj. že sblížení s Čínou skutečně ovlivnilo americké vztahy se Sovětským svazem a naopak.

This paper examines the concept of triangular diplomacy, i.e. Nixon's and Kissinger's strategy, which deliberately works with the interconnectedness of Sino-American rapprochement and détente with the Soviet Union. We decided to collect information on the topic from many different sources and synthesise it into a clear and coherent picture. We analyse the international context which preceded triangular diplomacy, explaining the key aspects of the relationship between the players at hand - the USA, the USSR and communist China. The paper also pays attention to the creators of the concept - Henry Kissinger and Richard Nixon - and their relationship with one another. We analyse all the key aspects of triangular diplomacy, the principles it is founded on, its mechanism and its aims. We also explain ways in which it is in line with the previously adopted foreign policy strategies and, more importantly, we describe the ways in which it deviates from the former strategies. Finally, the paper provides a wide range of examples - backed by many citations and direct quotes - which illustrate the way in which the mechanism of the "triangle" played itself out.
