Teoretická část podává informace o anatomii, fyziologii a patofyziologii lymfatického systému. Přibližuje problematiku karcinomu prsu, jeho diagnostiku, prevenci, léčbu a zaměřuje se na komplikaci léčby tohoto onemocnění, na sekundární lymfedém horní končetiny. Další část je věnována popisu základních pilířů komplexní dekongestivní terapie. Praktická část odhaluje využití komplexní dekongestivní terapie u konkrétních dvou pacientek po ablaci mammy s diagnostikovaným sekundárním lymfedémem horní končetiny a poukazuje na to, jak významně terapie ovlivňuje samotný lymfedém, ale i kvalitu života pacientek.

Information about anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of the lymphatic system is covered within the theoretical part. It also brings forward the whole issue of breast cancer with its diagnosis, prevention and treatment and mainly focuses on its complication, secondary lymphedema of the upper extremity. The end of the theoretical part describes the basis of Complex Decongestive Therapy. The empirical part shows how Complex Decongestive Therapy is used in two patients after the ablation of breast, diagnosed with the secondary lymphedema of the upper extremity.
