Působení Evropské lidové strany v Evropském parlamentu. Výzvy a perspektivy

Abstract

Text of the thesis focuses on the activity of the Group of the European People's Party in the European Parliament. It focuses on this issue from three different perspectives. The first perspective presents a theoretical approach on the concept of europarty as transnational political actor that has developed on the basis of the development of the European integration and the development of the European institutions. The second perspective focuses on the work of the European People's Party, as a classic example transnational European party structure. It refers to its historical development and formation in the context of strengthening the position of the European Parliament. It also encompasses the Group of the European People's Party and its influence in the European Parliament in historical perspective. At the same time reveals the inner structure, program policies and operation mechanism of this parliamentary faction. The third perspective focuses on the analysis of the cohesion of the Group of the European People's Party in the seventh term of the European Parliament. The group cohesion is viewed as one of the main characters determining the strength and importance of the parliamentary factions. Text práce pojednává o působení poslaneckého klubu Evropské lidové strany v Evropském parlamentu. Zaměřuje se na tuto problematiku ze tří různých perspektiv. V první perspektivě předkládá teoretický pohled na koncept eurostrany jako transnacionálního politického aktéra, který se vyvinul na základě vývoje evropské integrace a rozvoje evropských institucí. Druhá perspektiva práce se zaměřuje na evropskou lidovou stranu, jako klasický příklad trannacionální evropské stranické struktury. Poukazuje na její historický vývoj a formování v souvislosti s posilováním postavení Evropského parlamentu. Všímá si také poslaneckého klubu Evropské lidové strany a jeho působení na půdě Evropského parlamentu v historické perspektivě. Zároveň odhaluje i vnitřní strukturu, programové zásady a mechanismus fungování této frakce. Třetí perspektiva se zaměřuje na analýzu soudržnosti poslaneckého klubu Evropské lidové strany v sedmém funkčním období Evropského parlamentu. Soudržnost klubu je pojímána jako jeden z hlavních znaků určující sílu a význam poslanecké frakce. Při tom vychází z teoretických předpokladů britského politologa Simona Hixe. V závěru formuluje výzvy pro poslanecký klub.
