Snaha našich krajanů o zachování českého jazyka v polském Zelově

Abstract

The thesis focuses on the effort to preserve Czech language among the Czech inhabitants of a Polish town of Zelow. The initial part of the paper deals with the methodology of my field research. The next part focuses on the main characteristics of the Czech countrymen in Zelow, especially their history, identity, religion and relations with the Polish majority. Its aim is to ascertain the importance of Czech language for the Czech countrymen in Zelow and to explore the question whether this community can retain its distinctive nature despite the already advanced assimilation into the majority

Práce se zaměřuje především na snahy zelovských Čechů o udržení českého jazyka v dané komunitě. Z počátku je práce soustředěna na metodiku mého terénního výzkumu. V další části poukazuji na charakteristiku českých krajanů v Zelově, která se zaobírá historií, identitou, náboženstvím, ale i vztahy s majoritní společností. Největší část práce se věnuje samotnému terénnímu výzkumu. Cílem práce je zjistit jaký význam má pro zelovské Čechy používání českého jazyka a zdali má tato komunita šanci přežít už tak dost pokročilou asimilaci do majoritní polské společnosti.
