Císařský portrét od Augusta po Trajána

Abstract

Práce se zabývá zobrazením císařů a jejich manželek ve volném sochařství a na mincích. Časové období zahrnuje dobu Augustovu, vládu julsko-klaudijské dynastie, rok čtyř císařů, flavijskou dynastii a Nervu a Traiana z linie "adoptivních císařů". Práce srovnává umělecké zpodobnění císařů s informacemi v antických literárních pramenech. Zachycuje geografické rozdíly v uměleckém ztvárnění panovníků. Rovněž se zabývá otázkou, čím se lišilo jejich zobrazení před a po převzetí vlády a souvislostí s římskou politickou propagandou. Práce je také doplněna o historické pozadí.

This bachelor thesis deals with the portraits of emperors and their wifes in free-standing sculpture and coins. The time period includes the Agustan era, the Julio-Claudian dynasty, the Year of the Four Emperors, the Flavian dynasty and Nerva and Traianus from the Adoptive Emperors. The thesis compares the artistic interpretation of emperors and ancient literary sources. It describes geographical differences in portrait before and after the accession and context with Roman political propaganda. Historical background is added.
