Přeměna tradiční městské knihovny ve Mšeně v komunitní centrum

Abstract

This Bachelor thesis depicts a "Transformation of a traditional town library in Mšeno into a community center" in the form of a case study. The functioning of the town library will be analysed, and a new alternative ways of utility will be considered. The research and description of specific communities living in the town is conducted as part of the analysis. The first chapter summarizes the current theoretical view on functioning of community libraries. Furthermore it deals with global trends of library transformation, and the need of transition into the new digital world to ensure their survival. The basic concept of community, commune work and community library are defined. This chapter is also dedicated to an overall situation in Czech Republic. The second chapter describes the town of Mšeno, its history, geographical location and provides its demographic characteristics and its specifics. The third chapter is dedicated to capture the actual functioning of the library, its activities and describes cooperation with other subjects. The strengths and weaknesses of library functioning are depicted in the fourth chapter. The final chapter contains an evaluation of the current situation of the town library and suggests its transformation into a fully functioning community center which would be opened...

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje tématu "Přeměna tradiční městské knihovny ve Mšeně na komunitní centrum" formou případové studie. Na příkladu městské knihovny bude zkoumáno její fungování, budou hledána nejlepší možná východiska. Zároveň zde budou zkoumány a popsány vybrané komunity, které žijí v tomto městě. První kapitola shrnuje současný teoretický pohled na fungování komunitních knihoven, pojednává o celosvětovém trendu přeměn knihoven, o nutnosti jejich transformace tak, aby byly schopné obhájit svou existenci v současném digitálním věku. Vymezují se zde základní pojmy jako je komunita, komunitní práce, komunitní knihovna. Tato kapitola se bude věnovat i situaci v českých knihovnách. Druhá kapitola popisuje město Mšeno, jeho historii, geografické umístění, uvede demografickou charakteristiku, jeho specifika. Třetí kapitola se věnuje samotnému fungování knihovny, jejích aktivit, popisu spolupráce s jednotlivými subjekty. Ve čtvrté kapitole jsou rozebrány slabé a silné stránky fungování knihovny. V závěrečné kapitole práce je obsaženo hodnocení současné situace městské knihovny a navržení možností jejího přerodu v plně fungující komunitní centrum, které bude otevřené všem skupinám obyvatel Mšena a bude splňovat všechny nároky, které jsou na knihovny v 21. století kladeny.
