Gomora Roberta Saviana. Realita a fikce

Abstract

Ve své bakalářské práci se věnuji vybraným tématům Gomory Roberta Saviana a zkoumám způsob, jakým autor pracuje s fakty a jak je prezentuje. V úvodní kapitole jsem se věnovala nástinu díla Roberta Saviana a obecné charakteristice jeho literárního stylu, práci s fakty a hlavní tematice jeho děl. Následující kapitoly pojednávají o stylu nazvaném Nový žurnalismus. Jsou představeny jeho základní myšlenky, představitelé, literární cíle, které si kladl a stěžejní body manifestu tohoto směru. Zcela zásadní pro posuzování Savianových děl v kontextu s Novým žurnalismem se jeví hlavně objektivita, pravdivé zachycení skutečnosti a komplexní přístup k vyprávění faktů literárním jazykem s estetickými rozměry. Jediný odklon od tohoto stylu spatřuji u Roberta Saviana v akcentu na roli vypravěče. Nový žurnalismus si kladl upozadění vypravěče či jeho naprostou absenci, za základní kritérium. Roberto Saviano se ve svých dílech objevuje neustále, ať v roli přímého aktéra, či nepřímo jako komentátor. V Novém žurnalismu se objevoval pohled autora, pohled dané postavy i postav vedlejších. Nejčastější formou však bylo přiblížení postavy čtenáři skrze její vlastní mysl. Postava vypravěče se tak pomalu vytrácela.

This thesis focuses on the selected topics of Roberto Saviano's Gomorrah and it attempts to examine the way the author works with facts and how he presents them. In the introductory chapter I gave an outline of Saviano's work and of the general characteristics of his literary style, his processing of facts and work with them and the main topics of his writings. In the beginning of my thesis, I addressed the topic of a literary style called the New Journalism. I presented its main ideas, representatives, literary goals and the core points of its manifesto. When assessing Saviano's work in the context of New Journalism, I believe it is crutial to consider its objectivity, genuine capture of reality and its comprehensive approach to narration of facts with a literary language of aesthetic dimension. Saviano's only deflection from this style would be in his role of the narrator. New Journalism seeked to push the role of the narrator to the background or to have it absent altogether whereas Saviano often appears in his own plays as a direct participant or an indirect commentator. The view of the author, the participant or the characters did frequently appear in the works of New Journalism.
