In this thesis I focus on job hunting of prospective university graduates in contemporary Japan. In the first chapter I describe traditional relationships on which is the employment in Japan based and which are a foundation for understanding complexity of whole problem. Second chapter is focused on job hunting activities itself, timing of its single steps and main problems that current situation brings. I try to incorporate not only the point of view of job hunting student, but also the point of view of the companies searching for suitable and reliable employees. Subsequently I consider what a discrepancy in requirements of both parties causes.
