Vývoj americké politiky vůči ČLR od roku 2001 do roku 2011 a strategická pozice USA a ČLR v Asii

Abstract

Tématem této bakalářské práce je americká politika vůči Číně v letech 2001 až 2011 a strategické postavení USA a Číny v Asii. Vývoj mezinárodních vztahů ve zmíněném období je pro oba státy i pro celý svět velice důležitý, neboť nově vznikající mocnosti, mezi něž patří také ČLR, mají potenciál změnit současný světový pořádek. Práce si klade za cíl porovnat americkou politiku vůči Číně během administrativy prezidenta George W. Bushe a Baracka Obamy a také zjistit, zda Čína představuje pro USA hrozbu. První kapitola se zabývá otázkou, zda útoky z 11. září a následná válka proti terorismu byly významným předělem v americko- čínských vztazích, neboť tyto události zásadně ovlivnily celkovou zahraniční politiku Washingtonu. Druhá kapitola popisuje Bushovu a Obamovu politiku vůči Číně v rámci amerických zahraničněpolitických konceptů, a to "upřímného, konstruktivního a kooperujícího vztahu", "zodpovědného podílníka", "skupiny dvou" (nikdy se nestala oficiální politikou USA) a "strategického ujištění". Třetí kapitola zkoumá hlavní rysy čínské zahraniční politiky, zejména na základě historické zkušenosti, konfucianské tradice a zahraničněpolitických konceptů "multipolarity", "pokojného vzestupu/rozvoje" a "harmonického světa". The theme of this Bachelor thesis is the American China policy between the years of 2001 and 2011 and the strategic position of the U.S. and China in Asia. Development of international relations during this era is very important for both states and also for the world because the emerging powers, including the PRC, have the potential to change the current worl order. The main objective of this thesis is to compare American China policy during the administrations of Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama and determine whether China poses a threat to the U.S. The first chapter attempts to assess whether the 9/11 attacks and the subsequent war against terrorism were an important watershed in U.S.-China relations since these attacks significantly affected the overall foreign policy of Washington. The second chapter describes Bush and Obama policies towards China within the framework of the U.S. foreign policy concepts of "candid, constructive, and cooperative relationship," "responsible stakeholder," "the Group of Two" (never became an official U.S. policy), and "strategic reassurance."
