Zvýšená pozornost bude věnována zejména architektonickým památkám obytného charakteru včetně související infrastruktury a širšího zázemí. Zkoumány budou rovněž prvky fortifikační, správní a monumentální architektury spadající do daného horizontu.
The paper deals with formulation of general character and mutual relations of secular architectural features in a particular area in the Roman period (30 BC - 395 AD) and their contextual relationship to the Western desert oases' architectural development. Discussed location is nowadays called the Bahariya oasis, known by Romans as Oasis Parva, which is understood in broad terms in this paper, including the site of el-Hayez. Significant attention will be put on architectural residential features together with their broader agro-economical precincts as well as their infrastructure. In addition, defensive, administrative and monumental features of the defined period will be investigated.
